Wat Benchamabophit is one of Bangkok’s most beautiful temples also known as “the marble temple” or Wat Ben. The temple’s name means the Monastery of the five princes near Dusit Palace” It is the private temple of King Rama V. The layout of the temple is the symmetry architecture style of European Influence with the Carrara marble from Italy mixed with decorative arts of finest Thai craftsmanship, made it a unique tourist attractions for visitors from around the world.

The ordination hall has a variety of style – The overall picture of the Traditional Thai Style, the roof tile shape an arch of the Khmer or Chinese style, the guardian lions style influenced by Ankhor Wat of Khmer, the white marble materials in the main construction of Italy and the stained glass windows style from Italy. Inside the ordination hall enshrined the replica of Buddha Chinnarat at Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Dhatu, Phitsanulok province as the main Buddha centered at the back of the hall.The buddha image is in bronze, seated with one leg above the other, in the attitude of subduing mara. Inside of the hall, there is a painting of eight great stupas in Thailand – Phra Pathom Chedi at Nakhon Pathom, Phra Maha Dhatu at Lavoh or Lopburi, Phra Dhatu Phanom at Nakhon Phanom, Phra Maha Dhatu Hariphunchai at Lamphoon, Phra Maha Dhatu at Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phra Maha Dhatu at Sukhothai, Phra Sri Ratana Dhatu at Sukhothai, and Phra Chedi Chaiyamongkol at Ayudhya.

This temple exhibits the Siamese architectural design and decoration arts of the Uposatha Hall, its cloister aimed to be the museum of Buddha image to display different styles and periods which come from Northern part of Thailand, replica of Buddha images and authentic Buddha images from other countries- Burma and Japan. There is walking buddha image at the gallery from the Sukhothai Period, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful Buddha image in the world.

The unique thing for this temple is that it is hard to locate the boundary stones because there are two boundary stones on the ground around the ordination hall while the other two are placed in the corner of the hall in the form of decorated lotus buds.
